Minister Brittney M. Adams-Crutcher, MS, ACRP-CP

Minister Brittney M. Adams-Crutcher, M.S., ACRP-CP, is a minister, Christian educator, connectional church leader, and healthcare research executive whose service reflects a deep commitment to developing people, strengthening institutions, and creating spaces where faith, learning, equity, and excellence can flourish. She serves alongside her husband, Rev. Kalif G. Crutcher, the Servant Leader of Bethel – Milwaukee, and brings to the congregation extensive experience in Christian formation, young adult ministry, organizational leadership, clinical research, and the development of emerging leaders.
 
The eldest of five children born to the Rev. Dr. Curlee and Mrs. Lisa Adams, Minister Brittney was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Evanston, Illinois. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio, the first Black-owned and operated historically Black college and university. In 2019, she completed her Master of Science in Clinical Research Administration and was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success Honor Society. She also holds the ACRP-CP credential, demonstrating her professional preparation and commitment to excellence in clinical research.

Minister Brittney developed her foundation for church leadership through years of active service within the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. At St. Paul CME Church, she served as President of the Young Adult Ministry.

She later served as Young Adult President of the Chicago District for three conference years, beginning with the 2014-2015 Conference Year. Her leadership expanded to the regional level when she served as Young Adult Vice President for the Southeast Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin Region during the 2015-2016 Conference Year. After prayerful consideration, she was elected President of the region's Young Adult Ministry during the 2016-2017 Annual Conference. From 2021 through 2024, she served as the Third Episcopal District Representative for the Young Adult Ministry, helping connect young adult leaders and ministries across the district while supporting communication, programming, leadership development, and connectional engagement. These roles allowed her to mentor young adults, develop ministry programming, build collaborative relationships, and support the spiritual and leadership development of young people throughout the church.

As her service deepened, Minister Brittney discerned God calling her to the preaching ministry. She accepted her call on April 29, 2017, and preached her trial sermon at St. Paul CME Church in Chicago on September 10, 2017. Her sermon, "Finding Joy in Carrying the Cross," was drawn from Hebrews 12:1-3. Her ministry continues to be shaped by a desire to help people grow in faith, recognize their God-given purpose, and develop the spiritual foundation necessary to serve others faithfully.
During her years of ministry at New Hope CME Church in Evanston, Minister Brittney was a committed leader in the Board of Christian Education and Formation and the Kingdom Kids ministry. Each week, she met with fellow Christian education leaders to pray, plan, and prepare for Kingdom Kids, an every-other-week ministry that regularly welcomed approximately 12 children and youth. Through biblical teaching, age-appropriate lessons, activities, mentoring, and meaningful conversations, the leadership team invested in the children and imparted Christian values, moral principles, scriptural knowledge, and practical guidance for living out their faith. Her work helped create a consistent environment where children and youth were known, nurtured, encouraged, and equipped to understand their identity in God.

Minister Brittney now serves as Director of the Board of Christian Education and Formation for the Third Episcopal District of the CME Church. In this connectional leadership role, she provides oversight and support for Christian education and formation ministries throughout the Southeast Missouri-Illinois-Wisconsin Region, the Michigan-Indiana Region, and the Kansas-Missouri Region. She works across regional and local levels to strengthen discipleship, support ministry leaders, encourage innovative approaches to Christian education, and help congregations develop ministries that form children, youth, young adults, and adults in the faith. She also served as a member of the successful campaign team that helped elect the Rev. Amina McIntyre as General Secretary of the Connectional Board of Christian Education and Formation, further demonstrating her ability to build relationships, organize effectively, and contribute to leadership at the highest levels of the church.

Beyond the church, Minister Brittney is an accomplished healthcare leader with extensive experience in clinical research administration. Her professional journey has included service as a hospital call-center staff member, pathology technician, research assistant, research coordinator, and clinical research manager. She currently serves as a Clinical Research Manager at Endeavor Health, where she leads two clinical research coordinators, one research assistant, and one intern. She provides leadership for research operations across oncology, cardiology, neurology, and other interdisciplinary departments, helping teams coordinate complex work, develop staff, strengthen research processes, and advance high-quality patient-centered research.

Prior to her current leadership role, Minister Brittney served as a Research Study Coordinator in the Department of Medicine, Section of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, at the NorthShore University HealthSystem Research Institute. Throughout her healthcare career, she has combined technical knowledge with relational leadership and a commitment to creating environments where employees can grow and belong. She established the first employee resource group of its kind within her research department for healthcare employees of color. The group created space for honest dialogue, education, inclusion, allyship, professional connection, and a stronger sense of belonging within the workplace.
 
Whether she is developing children in the faith, supporting Christian educators across three regions, organizing at the connectional level, or leading healthcare research professionals, Minister Brittney is known for thoughtful preparation, compassionate leadership, collaboration, and a commitment to helping people and organizations reach their full potential. She believes that ministry and leadership are most effective when they are rooted in service, integrity, accountability, and genuine care for the people entrusted to one's leadership. Minister Brittney is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. 

Minister Brittney is married to her best friend, Rev. Kalif G. Crutcher. Together, they are the proud parents of Cameron Michael, Layla Marie, and Sophia Felecia. Her life and ministry are grounded in Psalm 1:1-3 (NRSVUE), which describes faithful people as trees planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in their season, with leaves that do not wither. This image reflects her desire to remain rooted in God, fruitful in service, and steadfast in every season of life and leadership.
